5 Vital Financial Resolutions to Improve Your Money Management in 2024

A personal finance expert has outlined five essential New Year's resolutions for Britons looking to improve their financial situation in 2025.
Joe Lytwyn, from Viva Money, believes he can guide people toward achieving their financial goals, whether it’s budgeting effectively or mastering credit card use, all through simple yet impactful steps.
With the New Year fast approaching, many across the UK are likely planning to make financial changes. However, Lytwyn cautioned against setting overly ambitious goals. He explained, "The key to sticking to resolutions is reducing the pressure you place on yourself."
"From boosting savings to improving our credit scores, many of us have financial ambitions we hope to achieve. But in reality, these goals often take longer than expected or are interrupted by unforeseen events, making it hard to stay on track."
He added, "Setting realistic goals and being kind to yourself is crucial to success. For instance, instead of aiming to become entirely debt-free in 2025, commit to reducing as much debt as possible."

Mike Belshe's 2025 Crypto Prediction: ‘Good Gains’ Ahead for Bitcoin

BitGo CEO Mike Belshe expects the momentum driving crypto assets in 2024 to continue into 2025.
In a recent CNBC interview, Belshe noted that while the crypto industry is already optimistic about the pro-crypto administration arriving in Washington, D.C., the impact of the new regulatory environment may not be fully priced in yet. "I think some of the regulatory changes are priced in, but we’ve seen that these events don’t always fully reflect until they actually happen," he said. "We have a new administration coming in, and things look promising, with people very excited and bullish. But it's not here yet. I believe we’ll see the effects of this throughout 2025."
He continued, emphasizing the contrast with the past two and a half years when the regulatory environment was actively hostile toward the crypto industry. "With that shift now going in the opposite direction, we’re going to see good gains next year."
When asked whether more companies will add Bitcoin (BTC) to their corporate treasuries, Belshe confidently stated, "It’s absolutely going to happen." He explained that many large companies have significant cash reserves that are losing value due to increased monetary supply, making Bitcoin an attractive alternative. "We’re currently in talks with multiple clients about this. The conversation has been ongoing for the past few years, but the regulatory changes and the availability of ETFs make it much easier now."
Belshe pointed out the substantial cash reserves of the top seven companies, which total hundreds of billions of dollars, making Bitcoin a sensible addition to their treasury management strategies. "It’s a hedge against the risk of continued inflation. While we’re optimistic about the new administration, the U.S. has not historically managed spending well. If monetary supply keeps increasing, Bitcoin is the perfect hedge."
At the time of writing, Bitcoin is priced at $94,912.
