Robinhood's Profit Surge Propels It Back to the Top of the Financial World

Robinhood's journey to fintech dominance has been nearly as turbulent as the meme stocks traded on its platform.
When the company debuted on the stock market on July 28, 2021, its IPO ended with a dip of 8%, bringing the stock price down to $34.82. Co-founders Vlad Tenev and Baiju Bhatt, who were once known for their long, flowing locks and clean-shaven faces, struggled to shake the perception that Robinhood was merely a platform for 20-somethings to buy a single share of GameStop (GME) and call it a day.
In 2022, the company made two rounds of layoffs—cutting 9% of its workforce in the first, and 23% in the second. Its stock plunged to a record low of $6.81 on June 13, 2022.
By June 2023, another 7% of its workforce was let go. Its stock price of $55 seemed a distant memory.
But after several new product releases, CEO Tenev is now accepting Yahoo Finance’s Comeback of the Year award at the company’s New York City headquarters. At 37, Tenev has traded his long hair for a shorter style, now resembling peers from corporate giants like Charles Schwab (SCHW) or JPMorgan (JPM). Some have even joked that he now looks like the legendary figure who robs from the rich to give to the poor.

Building a Tech-Savvy Resume: What to Add for 2025 Job Success

The job market is changing quickly, with technology playing a pivotal role in shaping opportunities across various sectors. As a senior professional, staying updated on tech trends is crucial to demonstrate your relevance and adaptability. Here’s how to seamlessly integrate the latest tech advancements into your 2025 resume.
Emphasize Relevant Technical Skills
Your technical expertise should take center stage, especially in today’s tech-driven environment. As industries increasingly adopt AI, machine learning, and blockchain, it’s important that your resume highlights your proficiency in these areas, particularly if they are relevant to your field.
Make sure to list current tools, software, and platforms you’re familiar with. For example, if you’ve worked with generative AI tools or leveraged data analytics for decision-making, showcase these skills prominently. Employers seek candidates who not only understand emerging trends but can apply them effectively.
Avoid broad terms like "tech-savvy" or "knowledgeable in digital tools." Instead, name the specific software or systems you've mastered. Tailoring these skills to match the job description will ensure your resume reflects both your capability and strategic alignment with the employer's needs.

The price of Bitcoin has fallen toward $90,000, dragging the entire crypto market down and erasing about $500 billion from the $3.2 trillion crypto industry.
Bitcoin's 10% drop in the past 24 hours was overshadowed by larger declines in Ethereum and other top ten cryptocurrencies, including Solana and Dogecoin, which tumbled by 15% to 25%.
