Stock market news today: Stocks press higher as rally rolls on

US stocks were higher on Wednesday, as the record-setting rally continued amid signs of cooling inflation overseas, propping up faith in the likelihood of interest rate cuts early next year.

The Dow Jones Industrial Average (^DJI) and S&P 500 (^GSPC) were just above the flat line while the tech-heavy Nasdaq Composite (^IXIC) led gains, adding about 0.3%.

QR code attacks probably aren’t coming for your scan-to-order menus

Phishing attacks using QR codes seem to be increasing. In this new method, individuals receive a phishing email instructing them to scan a QR code. When scanned, the code leads to a malicious link (often designed to steal credentials), resulting in an account takeover. Local news outlets have cautioned the public, security publications advise executives to stay vigilant, and security firms strongly emphasize the need to refer to it as "quishing."

Hardware wallet provider, Ledger’s Connect Kit library was exploited this week, resulting in several frontends being compromised. Synthetix ends token inflation for the protocol and finally, Rainbow wallet hops on the points bandwagon, with the launch of Rainbow Points.
